If your furniture is in good condition or has value, selling is the best option.
Old and valuable furniture - Sell it yourself
If you have furniture from before 1950, period pieces (Louis XV, Art Deco...) or designer furniture, decide before the clearance whether you want to keep them or sell them yourself.

If your furniture is still usable but difficult to sell, donation is an excellent option.

For damaged or worthless furniture, head to your local recycling centre (recyparc).
What goes to the recycling centre
- Wooden furniture (wood container)
- Metal furniture (scrap)
- Mattresses (bulky items - often paid)
- Sofas (bulky items)
Abandoning furniture on the pavement or in nature is prohibited and can result in fines of up to 625 euros in Belgium.
